I made my first real big-girl purchase on my recent trip to Japan — a camera. It’s not as big as a house or a car, but it allows you to hold the world as it is for a moment and then peer back into that moment over and over again, and in better quality than whatever my iPhone 11 Pro allows me to capture. My camera is, in Japanese fashion, efficient, high quality and completely in Japanese. Thankfully, for the moment the two of us — me and camera — are completely psychic and in sync. (Translation: I haven’t been brave enough to wake the dragon and figure out what everything means; I know how to switch it on and off and click “capture”.)
Kyoto
My favourite part of our trip was our day trip to Kyoto. If I were to do the trip again I would probably have spent a day or two longer.

We also got (pretty good) fortunes at one of the temples we visited, and we’ve been riding that high ever since.
Osaka

We also went to the very famous Dotonburi many times but for some reason I have no pictures besides these two.

Roads and Trains
I enjoy the very physical activity of simply travelling (I have mixed feelings about road trips, however, thanks to motion sickness) and therefore I have these photographs of just being in transit.

If you’ve made it this far, thank you for scrolling/apologies for it being so long. To more such vivid and beautiful experiences in the next round of “postcards”.
